Ontario drivers warned about insurance changes as of July 1

Ontario auto insurance changes taking effect July 1 will allow drivers to opt out of some coverage currently included in standard policies. CTV’s Stefan Keyes reports that Ottawa Insurance Brokers Association broker Brian Erwin warns optional income replacement coverage could leave drivers exposed after serious collisions. Lawyer Hisham Imtiaz of The Biking Lawyer LLP says the changes could also affect cyclists seeking accident benefits after crashes involving motor vehicles.
